Abstract

This research aims to elaborate an integrative model of human consciousness based on the concept of Pancamaya Kosha from Vedanta, the seven chakras from Kundalini Yoga practice, and the Map of Consciousness developed by David R. Hawkins. The research approach uses the reflective-heuristic method and philosophical hermeneutics, with reference to transformational experiences and spiritual practices at the Anand Krishna Center. The results show that there is a strong correspondence between the structure of the layers of consciousness in the Upanisads, the activation of the chakras in Yoga, and the levels of consciousness in Hawkins' Map. The findings reinforce the idea that holistic health can only be achieved through the expansion of spiritual consciousness that includes the physical, energetic, emotional, intellectual and transcendent dimensions. In the socio-cultural context of Bali, national Indonesia, and globally, this model of consciousness can be a bridge between “das Sein” (reality) in the form of increasingly rampant spiritual and mental crises, and “das Sollen” (ideality) in the form of hopes for a holistically healthier society. Thus, this approach is also relevant in answering the challenges of moral degradation, environmental crisis, and identity conflicts that occur in various parts of the world.
