Konstruksi Solidaritas Sosial Penyungsung Pura pada Masyarakat Hindu di Kabupaten Klaten
Main Article Content
Abstract
The construction of social solidarity among temple attendants in the Hindu community in Klaten Regency. Located in Central Java Province, Klaten Regency is unique in its cultural and religious diversity. One prominent aspect of this region is the Hindu community's adherence to religious traditions, including the existence of temples that serve as centers of spiritual activity. Temple attendants perform five types of activities known as "Panca Yadnya," which are five types of offering ceremonies performed collectively by each member of the temple attendants(Dana,2008). These ceremonies include Dewa Yadnya, Resi Yadnya, Manusa Yadnya, Pitra Yadnya, and Bhuta Yadnya. These activities are still practiced by Hindu communities in various regions within Klaten Regency to this day. Thus, temple attendants function as a binding forum and social system that supports the practice of Hinduism. This research was conducted using qualitative methods, emphasizing subjective qualities. This includes analysis and explanation based on perceptions to gain an understanding of social and humanitarian phenomena (Hermawan, 2004:14). Data was collected through observation and documentation to obtain necessary information regarding temple practitioners, particularly those related to Hindu religious activities. The process of building social solidarity among temple practitioners is based on the fundamental elements that constitute social solidarity, which are bound by a shared belief system or religion, family ties through marriage, and shared interests. In this context, these interests relate to the formation of social relationships within the Hindu community in Klaten. The impact of building social solidarity among temple practitioners within the Hindu community is divided into two: positive and negative. Positive impacts tend to have a positive impact on social, cultural, and religious life within the Hindu community in Klaten, such as improving the quality of life and harmony, particularly related to internal harmony. Conversely, negative impacts have an unfavorable impact on Hindus in Klaten, such as the emergence of conflict, both in the form of conflicting debates and latent conflicts that have the potential to trigger violence.
