Plagiarism Policy
Upadesha: Journal of Education Research and Learning Innovation is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable in scholarly publishing.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Copying or reproducing someone else's work without proper citation.
- Using paraphrased content from other sources without acknowledgment.
- Self-plagiarism (reusing significant portions of one's own previously published work without citation).
- Fabrication or falsification of citations.
Plagiarism Screening Process
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous plagiarism check using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, Grammarly, or other tools). The following guidelines apply:
- Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% (excluding references and bibliography) will be returned to the author for revision.
- Manuscripts with severe plagiarism (above 30%) will be automatically rejected.
- Authors may be blacklisted from future submissions in cases of intentional plagiarism.
Consequences of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected at any stage:
- Before publication – The manuscript will be rejected immediately.
- After publication – The article will be retracted, and a retraction notice will be issued.
- Authors involved in plagiarism may be reported to their institutions for further action.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must:
- Ensure that their work is original and properly cited.
- Provide clear attribution for any quoted or paraphrased material.
- Acknowledge all sources of data, figures, or text used in their manuscript.
Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team of Upadesha is responsible for:
- Conducting plagiarism screening before the peer-review process.
- Taking appropriate action if plagiarism is detected.
- Maintaining transparency and ethical publishing standards.
